Are we doing justice to Learning & Development?
We all preach that Learning & Development as a continuous activity, which means that we should work on this throughout the year. But in most of the Organizations, we take the entire first quarter to collate the training needs of the employees and finalize the training plan in the second quarter. Because of this avoidable delay, training programs are scheduled in the latter part of second quarter and also third quarter only. Business Managers ensure that the last quarter is meant only for pushing the Sales. HR need to be assertive and ensure that the L & D activity should continue throughout the year, so that the Organizations are benefited in the short and long runs.
